New York based photographer M David Leeds

Over the past twenty years, award-winning New York photographer M David Leeds has been lucky enough to experience a lot of incredible moments and to do so while looking through a viewfinder.  He was there when Mr. Jeter became Mr. November; enjoyed basketball at Rucker Park with former President Bill Clinton during his first week in Harlem; huffed paint in a make-shift kitchen at Def Jam with Jay-Z, and suffered court-side with Spike Lee while Michael Jordan hit a game winner at Madison Square Garden, again.  In what he refers to as “one of the best assignments ever”, David enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass at Cipriani 42nd Street and then worked up a sweat with Aretha Franklin, as she made her long awaited return to the stage. Always with a camera in his hands.

David’s work has graced the pages of publications around the world, and his photographs have been recognized many times, including World Press, NJPA, Sasakawa Sports Foundation and Photo District News (PDN) which selected his photograph of Bobby Knight as one of the Icons of the 21st Century (Sports – PDN 10/05).

After starting his career at the New Jersey Herald, he went on to a staff job with Allsport, then the worlds première sports photography agency (now Getty Images Sport).  Working independently since 2001, while continuing to shoot editorially, David has taken on assignments from commercial clients including; Under Armour, Kenneth Cole, NIKE Jordan Brand as well as Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream brands.  He prides himself on his versatility and problem solving under pressure and always making sure to capture what the client wants and more.

As awesome as all of that is, his greatest happiness comes from spending time with his wife Molly, and their son, Freddie.
